Commitment...What are you committed to?

I once read a book about a student who wanted to be smart as the teacher...ASAP!!(((SMH)))..The student told the teacher he would do "ANYTHING" to become as smart as him...The teacher replied "ANYTHING"!?!...The student said yes!
The Teacher asked him Why?...The student said because he wanted to be the smartest person in school...The teacher asked "are you committed"? And the student answered "YES" without thinking about the question..."ARE YOU COMMITTED"?
After weeks of reading, writing and tests the teacher asked the student..."DO YOU FEEL SMARTER NOW, YOU'VE PASSED All THE TESTS w/ 100%"? The student said "No" with a look of emptiness on his face..."I feel the same" The teacher Asked "WERE YOU COMMITTED" ? This time the student took a second and thought to himself and answered "NO" The Teacher said..." well how could this be, you've done all these things to prove that you were smarter" The student replied "I know but I was only committed to passing...
